What is Curvy  & Accessible Yoga?

Accessible Yoga philosophy is that yoga should be made available to everyone, regardless of their physical ability. As a teacher with physical limitations due to injury and auto immune challenges, I've explored the ways that my Yoga practice can be modified to suit students with disabilities, physical challenges, as well as seniors.
Curvy Yoga / Yoga 4 Cancer Certified Instructor:  is an international organization founded by Anna Guest-Jelley. Yoga is often represented as something that is only for young, flexible people, not average people who may be intimidated by the thought of taking a public class. I became certified in Curvy Yoga, Yoga4Cancer and Warriors at Ease (combat/trauma sensitive yoga) meditation and yoga in an effort to provide yoga to people with bigger bodies or bodies in need of modifications after trauma, illness or injury. These types of yoga are also appealing to those who would like to practice in a non-competitive environment. Laughter and essential oils are part of every class I teach!  I am a certified yoga teacher who trained with Anna in the fall of 2014 and Tari Prinster in Fall of '17 after finding that many returning Veterans, cancer survivors, baby boomers (like me!) and others were in need of a supportive environment to adapt their yoga practice.  A few years ago, faced with an injury, I rediscovered, yoga and meditation, completely overhauled my nutrition and hired a holistic physical therapist.  This plan kept me out of surgery and taught me that I could live a happy healthier life in spite of chronic pain.  After a lot of yoga studio research, I finally found a few studios and a handful of teachers who were open to my modification needs and even welcomed those modifications into their advanced classes. Thank you Cathy, Joe, Stacy, Jee and Laurie for being my inspiration in those early days and supporting me in my teacher training journey!

I provide private and group lessons in St. Charles County. I teach at Wentzville Parks & Rec in 5 week increments.  If you have several friends who would like to get together for a yoga lesson in your home, a per person rate is possible within 15 miles.
